Update from our farm.
The very first Bateman sprayer was designed and built by Richard Bateman to enable him to continue spraying on his farm in Devon when faced with demanding conditions.
Today our sprayers are still manufactured on that very same farm. Every Bateman sprayer is tested in our own fields before leaving for our customers’ farms.
In addition to pre-delivery checks on sprayers destined for all parts of the UK and overseas, we’ve been busy on the farm harvesting spring barley in partnership with local contracting firm Sing Contractors of South Molton. Winter barley and winter wheat has been whole cropped with good yields coming back.
It’s very much a team effort between ourselves and several local contracting businesses. For example, now the birds have fled the hedgerows we’re cutting them back and at the same time compost is being spread by Robinson Contractors of Okehampton. In the next few weeks we hope to be drilling winter wheat and winter barley which will be done by another local contractor Dave Pollard.
Once the corn is drilled we’ll be spraying pre-ems with a 36m top of the range RB35 with RTK putting in its own tramlines. This work will be carried out by Taw Valley contractors.
